Lorraine Cowburn is a jazz vocalist with a huge repertoire of songs ranging from swing standards of the 40’s throught to more contemporary stles of the 50’s and Latin Jazz/Bossa nova era.
She has a smooth and origonal style and is completely at ease with improvisation and her famous vocal trumpet which has become something of a trade mark!
Raised on Dixie land jazz she has been immersed in this genre all her life absorbing the melodies and lyrics and making them her own through her unique ability to bring her own style into each song she sings.
Currently Joy Lorraine has the pleasure and fortune of working on duo and trio arrangements with Gary Boyle guitarist and David burns on Bass. . Her love of clever lyrics and inviting melody combined with her lush phrasing and rich extended range create a compelling listening experience.
